This is a WWII United States Marine Corp machete or boloknife. The maker is Village Blacksmith. The blade has the following on it: “USMC Village Blacksmith” These were made from 1942-1945, and were issued during WWII. It’s approximately 16 ½” long, the blade is approximately 11 ¼” long, and the handle is approximately 5 ¼” long. The condition of the blade is good. But overall it’s in pretty decent shape considering its age, and has a nice speckled patina. The handle is solid and the leather scabbard in very good condition marked U.S.M.C BOYT 1945
